Uruguay. Freedom for the political prisoners! A people in struggle against the dictatorship.
Menéndez, Guillermo
— Description —
Large Cuban silkscreen print, published in the framework of the National Salon of Graphic Propaganda 26 de Julio of 1975 (Havana). It denounces the political repression during the presidency of Juan María Bordaberry (1973-1976), in Uruguay. It represents a rose, symbol of socialism, behind prison bars. Scarce: we have only been able to locate two examples, one in The Lindsay Webster Collection of Cuban Posters and another in the Slovak National Museum.
