Small nautical chart representing the mouth of the Río de la Plata into the Atlantic Ocean. On it one can identify important cities such as Buenos Aires, Colonia del Sacramento and Montevideo, among others. The chart covers the whole extent of the Río de la Plata, from Buenos Aires and Colonia del Sacramento to the cape of Santa María and the cape of San Antonio. It was made by the cartographer Étienne-André Philippe de Prétot in Paris in 1787 and formed part of Prétot’s atlas titled Atlas Universel pour l’Étude de la Géographie et de l’Histoire Ancienne et Moderne.
