Puebla Station

Original lithograph of the Puebla railway station, present-day seat of the National Museum of Mexican Railways, published in Mexico in 1875. Towards the second half of the 19th century, Puebla established itself as one of the most important cities of the country, driven by its prosperous textile industry and the development of its railway infrastructure. The Mexican Railway was a pioneer in the region, inaugurating in 1869 this imposing English-style station, built with limestone and adorned with brick details. The lithograph, made by Adolfo R. Sánchez, possibly from a photograph by Alfred Briquet, was published by Llano y Compañía in the “Historia del Ferrocarril Mexicano” by Gustavo Baz.
