Uncommon first edition of the map of Vienna by Jaillot/Sanson, published in 1683, in the wake of the Turkish siege of Vienna of that same year. It shows the surroundings of Vienna, from Stockerau to the north to Laxenburg to the south, and from Elsbach to the west to Obersiebenbrunn to the east. Jaillot would reprint this plan several times, in particular in 1692, 1700 and 1710, with minor changes (the addition of a key in the lower right corner). Although the 1692 edition is quite common on the market, that of 1683 is rare, with only two examples recorded in WorldCat/OCLC (Universitätsbibliothek Bern and BnF).
