Original antique map of Andalusia and the kingdoms of Granada and Murcia, engraved by Giovanni Maria Cassini and published in Rome in 1794. The map depicts the entire Andalusian region, identifying numerous cities: Seville (Siviglia), Córdoba, Granada, Jaén, Cádiz (Cadice), Málaga, Almería, Cartagena, Orihuela, and Baeza. Archbishopric seats are marked with a cross for easy identification. City and region names appear in Italian: Andalusia, Regno di Granada, Cadice, Siviglia. The decorative cartouche features a rural scene with cows in a meadow. This map was produced during a period when Andalusia was one of Spain’s most populated regions, with major port cities on both the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. Giovanni Maria Cassini was an Italian cartographer and engraver active in Rome during the second half of the eighteenth century, specializing in maps of European territories.
