— Description —

Map of Peru and Bolivia (Upper Peru), extending from the northern border between Peru and Ecuador to the southern border of Bolivia with Argentina and Chile. Published in Paris in 1835 by Charles Monin, a French cartographer active in the first half of the 19th century. It identifies the towns of Trujillo, Tarma, Huancavelica, Lima, Huamanga, Ilo, Arica, Cusco, La Paz, Cochabamba, Potosí, La Plata or Chuquisaca (former name of Sucre), Santa Cruz de la Sierra and Tarija. The relief is shown by shading, with the Andes mountain range and Lake Titicaca. The title is in the lower left corner, in a circular cartouche; the scale, in leagues and miles, on the right.
