Important map of the department of Venezuela during the Republic of Colombia (the official name of Gran Colombia). It represents the province of Caracas, from Carora to the west, the Apure River to the south and the Unare River to the east. It was published in Paris in 1827, by order of José Manuel Restrepo, who was then Secretary of the Interior of Simón Bolívar, in his Atlas de la Historia de la Revolución de Colombia. Little known, the “Atlas de Restrepo” was the first atlas published by a Latin American nation. Original colours.
