Scarce map of Istanbul, divided into the city, Eyup, Hasloi, Tophana Pea, Galata and Scutari. It contains an alphabetical key that refers to thirteen points of interest. It was published in London by John Luffman in 1802. Luffman’s maps are very scarce on the market. Hand-coloured. John Luffman (fl. 1776-1820) was a geographer, engraver, writer, historian, publisher and goldsmith established in London. He is well known among collectors for his New pocket atlas and geography of England and Wales, and his circular maps.
