— Description —

Map of the border area between Ecuador and Peru. It extends from Paita, in the west, to Borja, in the Peruvian district of Manseriche, and from north to south from Oña (Ecuador) to Jaén (Peru). Published in Paris in 1764 by Jacques-Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772), cartographer and hydrographer of the Dépôt des cartes et plans de la Marine. It identifies the localities of Oña, Paita, San Sebastián de Yuluc, Zaruma, Loja, Zamora, Valladolid, Palanda, the former town of Loyola and Jaén. The relief is shown by shading. The title and scale occupy the upper left corner, within a cartouche.
