— Description —
Italian map of Salamanca, Ávila, Segovia, Guadalajara, Madrid, Toledo, La Mancha and Extremadura. It presents political division in colour, profusion of place names and pictographic relief in profile. It was published in Florence in 1819 and made by the Italian mathematician, writer and geographer Bartolomeo Borghi for his most important work, the scarce Atlante Generale. An important aspect of this atlas is that it incorporated the new geopolitical structure of Europe decided at the Congress of Vienna (1814-1815) at the end of the Napoleonic wars.
