Original antique print showing a view of Carmona, a town located in the province of Seville, Andalusia, taken from near the esplanade. Created by Nicolas-Marie-Joseph Chapuy and published in Paris in 1844. The composition presents the urban profile of Carmona from an exterior viewpoint, revealing the layout of the town on its characteristic elevation in the Sevillian countryside. The main buildings forming the urban core in the mid-19th century can be distinguished. Carmona, an ancient city of Roman origin and later a Muslim and Christian centre, retained numerous vestiges of its medieval past at that time.
