The Chilean people will crush fascism

Uncommon Cuban poster in homage to President Salvador Allende. The silkscreen print represents the silhouette of the Chilean president and reproduces in the lower part part of a speech delivered by Fidel Castro on 28 September 1973, barely a few days after the coup d’état: “Chile has been left with a great flag, an extraordinary flag, an extraordinary figure: the immortal flag and figure of President Allende! President Allende has given his people the highest example of heroism that can be offered. President Allende has synthesised the best of Chilean patriotism, valour, honour and combative spirit! The Chilean people will crush fascism”. Uncommon: we have not been able to find another example in public or private collections. We have been told that it initially formed part of a series of 6 posters, of which one example is said to be in the Center for Cuban Studies (New York).
