Published in Amsterdam in 1622 by Antonio de Herrera y Tordesillas, a Spanish historian and chronicler, chief chronicler of the Indies and author of the Historia general de los hechos de los castellanos en las Islas y Tierra Firme del Mar Océano. It identifies the main localities of the region: Quito, Guayaquil, Popayán, Cuenca, Valladolid, Loja and Paita. It is a simply drawn map.
