Carte de la Navarre et du Béarn

This antique map published in 1785 shows the Kingdom of Navarre, the French Béarn and the surrounding areas of Guipúzcoa, Álava, Rioja, Aragon and Bigorre in France. The title and the scale are framed in a box.

Louis Brion de la Tour, the creator of this map, was a leading French cartographer and geographer, with the title of “Ingénieur Géographe du Roi.” Brion de la Tour was closely associated with Louis Charles Desnos (c. 1750-1790), a renowned bookseller and engineer who collaborated extensively in the creation of globes and spheres for the King of Denmark.
