Carta General del Oceano Atlantico Meridional

Nautical chart of the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean, published in London in 1810 by José de Espinosa y Tello (1763-1815), a Spanish naval officer and cartographer, director of the Hydrographic Office of the Navy and a member of the Malaspina expedition. It depicts the coast from the equinoctial line to the Antarctic sea, as well as the African coast between the Gabon river and the Cape of Good Hope, and part of the Pacific with the Galápagos. The chart focuses on the coastline. The towns include Quito, Guayaquil, Trujillo, Lima, Arica, Valparaíso, Santiago, Concepción, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Maldonado, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. It marks the Strait of Magellan, the Gulf of San Jorge, the Falkland Islands and the Río de la Plata. In the lower right corner it includes a map of the northern coast of the Río de la Plata, with Montevideo and Maldonado.
