Carta de la Meridiana medida en el Reyno de Quito

Horizontal map of the Andean regions of Ecuador, extending from Ambuquí, in the north, to Cuenca, in the south. Published in Madrid in 1748 by Jorge Juan and Antonio de Ulloa, members of the French Geodesic Mission (1735-1744) that measured an arc of meridian in the Audiencia of Quito and authors of the Relación histórica del viaje a la América Meridional (1748). The map is part of the collection drawn up to measure degrees of meridian and determine the figure and size of the Earth. It identifies the localities of Ambuquí, Cotacachi, Otavalo, Pambamarca, Quito, Machachi, Latacunga, Ambato, Calpí, Guamote, Alausí, Biblián, Azogues and Cuenca. The relief is shown by shading.
