Produced by Rigobert Bonne, renowned engineer-hydrographer of the Dépôt de la Marine of France and one of the most influential cartographers of his time, this map represents the former kingdoms of Aragon and Navarre during the 18th century. The map shows in detail the political division, the principal cities, rivers, mountain ranges and coastlines, with a clear and precise representation typical of the Enlightenment cartographic style. Furthermore, it reflects the scientific and rationalist approach of the 18th century, in contrast to the decorative Baroque style, by not including decorative cartouches, for example.
