The Battle of Almenar was fought on 27 July 1710 during the War of the Spanish Succession, in the context of the last offensive of the supporters of the Archduke Charles against the troops of Philip V of Spain. The present plan details the terrain, positions and movements during the crucial engagement.

Published to illustrate the battles of the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714) in which British troops allied to the Austracists took part, this engraving highlights the decisive confrontation between the forces of Philip V and the coalition. The precise style of the copperplate engraving reflects the 18th-century British military cartography, with clear indications of camps and battle lines.
