First complete edition of this atlas which includes 53 double-page maps engraved by Dussy, all coloured. It is also adorned with cartouches engraved by Arrivet. In the introduction, the atlas contains a short dissertation on the study of geography, as well as a table of maps and an alphabetical table. Although the table of maps lists 52 maps, the atlas actually contains 53, since map 47 is present in two versions. Among them, four are world maps and five are related to America. The old binding is adorned with an engraved and gilded title-piece. (Tooley IV-52.)
