Carte de Sevilla

Original antique map of the Archbishopric of Seville and its surroundings, engraved by Thomás López and published by Homann in Nuremberg in 1781. The map shows the present-day provinces of Cádiz, Huelva, Seville, Málaga and Córdoba when the territory was divided into archbishoprics. Cities, towns, farmsteads and religious sites such as bishoprics, monasteries and hermitages are marked. Thomás López was royal geographer to Charles III and author of numerous maps of Spanish provinces. Homann was a German publishing house that distributed European maps during the 18th century. The work is a copper engraving, hand-colored.
