Scarce map of the Crown of Aragon, including Catalonia and the Balearics. Map made by Nicolas Sanson d’Abbeville, the most important European cartographer of his time. Published in 1653, it is one of the last maps showing Roussillon (or Northern Catalonia) as part of Catalonia. With the Treaty of the Pyrenees (1659), this region passed to France (today in the department of the Eastern Pyrenees). Original colours.
